Windows Eventlogs... You know they contain a ton of useful information, but they aren't exactly the easiest to search; especially in bulk. Actually, searching eventlogs can be quite frustrating. The next meeting of the Raleigh-Triangle PowerShell User Group will be discussing this topic in depth with our speaker for the evening, and group co-leader Phil Bossman . We'll be meeting at the MetLife campus in Cary, NC on January 16th, 2019 starting at 6:30 pm.
Phil Bossman
Phil is an accomplished Windows administrator and is a Citrix architect for a national building materials supplier. Phil has been the co-leader of RTPSUG for sometime and has been talking "PowerShell" for a very long time now. One of the great things about Phil is he is super knowledgeable about PowerShell syntax, and as a result, he always has lots of useful tips on how to do stuff in PowerShell easier and faster. On top of that, he does an exceptional job of explaining concepts to PowerShell n00bs as well as the veterans alike.
RTPSUG Group Info
Phil and I lead the group and our goal as leaders is to create a community to share ideas and help people get their feet wet with PowerShell. The group meets twice a month and we cover a range of topics related to PowerShell. All of our meetings have a remote attendance option and the meetings are recorded and saved to YouTube and our Github page. Most importantly though: You do not need to be an expert to attend!
Our group is about catering to people of all walks of life and all levels of experience. If you are total PowerShell beginner, you are welcome to join us! The presenters that we ask to demonstrate ideas try to cover things for all skill levels. The hardest thing to do is to show up! Once you do that, you will soon realize, it's pretty easy going group of people to spend some time with. The one thing that I would like every person who attendsto understand is that these metings are supposed to be idea starters. Some topics may go super deep and some will be more surface level 101 introductory content. Overall though, the goal is to cover many interesting and thought provoking topics through the calendar year.
If you would like to attend, please click this link: Eventlogs: Learn to Search like a Boss! and then RSVP. There is no cost to join and there is no obligation on your part. As an added bonus, we provide a light dinner for all members who attend in person. If you would like to attend remotely, you should still RSVP and then we'll email the remote attendance link about 3 hrs prior to the meeting start to everyone who RSVP'ed YES.
Be sure to join Phil as he shares his wealth of knowledge on a topic that everybody can relate to.
